At Green Space Nature Preschool, our mission consists of providing a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe. Our unique Preschool offers various activities that are specifically designed to encourage each child’s growth. Through cooperative play and creative activities, kids reach their social, emotional and physical milestones naturally and with ease.

Our Philosophy
Sensory-rich, Hands-on Experiences
Play is at the heart of developmentally appropriate practice. The language of young children is play. We provide curricular experiences rich with hands on materials, engaging with peers and adults within the program, and we study topics that are generally interesting to the children. Instruction for preschool age children is most beneficial individually and in small groups, with times for large groups to build a sense of community and share important information about the day.
We provide experiences for young children that meet their individual needs. Firmly grounded in typical preschool development, we make allowances for children that might be developing at different rates within their developmental domains.
We believe in honoring young children and families from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. As we honor and respect the diversity of families that come into our program, we welcome the opportunity to learn about important aspects of your family life. We intentionally and diligently work towards being culturally competent and look forward to teaching young children in culturally appropriate ways.
How Preschoolers Learn
Preschool children learn best in active environments. They learn through play, with open-ended materials and uninterrupted time to develop their skills or understanding of a concept.
Young children should have the opportunity to make choices about which area they would like to visit and what activities they would like to do while there. Preschool age children learn through positive interactions with people that matter to them. They need the opportunity to interact in positive ways with the adults and children around them.
Encountering challenges is a part of their learning. Our teachers use a problem-solving approach to assist the child in learning how she might address the issue that she is experiencing.
